Library eBook SRPs Also Lowered on All 711 Products

We're pleased to announce that today we have also lowered prices on all 711 Press books in the OverDrive system, so libraries around the world can stock up on even more 711 Press titles at significantly reduced costs. We like to pass on savings to consumers whenever possible; think of it as paying it forward. Hopefully this will inspire others to do the same.

Meanwhile, gobble up as many books as you want librarians, because, unlike Penguin and Random House and every big pub that refuses to give you a break, we at 711 Press appreciate continuing service public libraries provide to patrons both nationally and internationally, fostering reading as a fundamental practice. We're just trying to do our part to support that important cause.

Does Amazon Kindle Ranking Affect Book Sales?

You bet your $0.99 book it does! With the creation of POD and eBook distribution companies like Lulu, CreateSpace, and Lightning Source (as well as Amazon's KDP platform and BN's Nook) the publishing floodgates have been opened wide, allowing anyone to turn author and make an extra dime selling their fiction and non-fictions works without seeking the traditional publishing route.

Therein lies the problem. EVERYONE is publishing a book nowadays (some great, many bad) which means readers must sift through thousands of books in order to find the ones they'll really enjoy. So, if you think writing a book, spitting out a print copy and slapping it on the KDP platform at amazon.com means automatic millionaire, think again. You're being tossed into the sea with every other author and you have to swim for the surface. Yes, there are the chosen few that have made it above water. So, what's their secret? The simple answer is: thousands of eyes on their books.

Feral Giveaway!

The Gist

Well, it's Tuesday, November 1st, folks! And that means it's time for us to kick off our monthly Reviewer Drive, where we seek out new willing Amazon Kindle Book reviwers for our monthly Movie Books. The rules are simple. The first 15 people to respond to this post will receive a copy of our next Kindle book, Feral, due out November 30th. To be considered for the free Kindle gift, you must go to our Contact Page, fill out the form, and enter "Kindle Reviewer" in the Title of Your Subject box. That's it!

Bear in mind that we are looking for fans of YA post-apocalyptic fiction that is loaded with sci-fi elements, and sprinkled with a tolerable smidgen of romance. (See more book details here.) If this sounds like your flavor, send us a line in keeping with the rules above and you'll make the list. If the book doesn't interest you, please do not contact us.

Things to Know

We need all reviewers to post on Amazon, but if you can add the same review to your blog, or other book-friendly sites like Goodreads, or even Barnes & Noble, that would be super, but you're not obligated to go beyond Amazon itself.

Books will be sent to you one day prior to actual release, that being Tuesday, November 29th. A Kindle download link will be sent to the same email you used to contact us. Once you've received the book, you will have a whole month to review same (hey, it won't take you more than an hour and a half to read the thing, and it's a FUN hour and a half!). In order to receive the other two books in the trilogy, you'll have to actually post a thoughtful review. (See an example here.)

You're not obligated to post a five-star review. But if you're posting a two-star, we'll take that as a sign that our books are not up your alley and we'll part ways. If you do like our stuff, chances are we'll keep sending you more, IF you keep posting thoughtful reviews.

So, feel free to sign up and become a 711 Press Reviewer! We're waiting for you. . . .
