Voyager 1 Has Reached the Edge of Our Solar System

Wow, it blows me away to think that something NASA launched into space nearly 35 years ago has literally traveled over 11 billion miles from Earth, is still in one piece and is still transmitting information back to Earth. That is astounding. And people think we don't have extraterrestrial allies helping us on the technological end, hmmm. September marks an exciting month for the satellite, knowing it has traveled for so long and so far, that it is close to passing out of our solar system, making it the farthest Earth object sent from Earth.

I am so giddy, I feel like I am living Phoenix Earth or Battlestar Galactica. I wonder what data it will collect on its three computers, which holds a total of 68 kb (probably less than this blog). That's pretty crazy. But it's even crazier that we were able to send objects into space 30+ years ago, knowing the airplane was only invented (at least this eon around) in the twentieth century. Anyone else think it bizarre that we've advanced so far in a hundred years?

Anyways, hats off to NASA (even if they've been temporarily downsized) for their amazing contributions to the field of science. I only wish I could travel to Malakar in my lifetime to see outer space for myself. Pssst, for those of you not familiar with Malakar, check out the TV book series Phoenix Earth on Kindle. Trust me, you'll get hooked!

Phoenix Earth Finale

And so the climactic end to Phoenix Earth Season One is here, and it won't leave you disappointed.

An inevitable full force attack by both the Malakarans and a race known as the Zyntoque’r’eh (alien planet eaters) is only days away as Earth's new inhabitants prepare to face the toughest challenge of their lives. Their key to survival lies in an ancient weapon found in an abandoned moon base, but, unfortunately, the weapon has apparently never worked. Tensions mount when the surviving Maluans, humans, and Ascendants learn that the attack will come sooner than expected. Can the united races discover the keys to the mysterious pyramids on the Earth and moon, unlock the secrets to using the ancient weapon and prepare their people to face their attackers before their end is upon them? Find out in Phoenix Earth Episode Thirteen, which you can purchase here.

I'm Digging Phoenix Earth

The cool thing about being a 711 Press author is the fact that we're all privy to reading one another's stories before they launch, and many times, due to our brainstorming meetings we're required to attend via Skype, we feed off one another, trading ideas, etc. It's a never ending think tank of creative ideas and plots.

Phoenix Earth is a TV Book series along the lines of Battlestar Galactica, written by Melvyn Riley, and, ironically, it features a tidbit of scenery from the Crisis Trilogy, thanks to suggestions from me and James. So, I've actually read through episode seven so far, and I must admit, I wasn't hooked until the third episode. I thought eps 1 & 2 were cool, but they just didn't grab me, so I sort of read them just to read them, truth be told. They seemed a little slow in spots, but hey, Crisis Artifact started out slow as James points out here. But, by that third episode, I was on the edge of my seat. That's not to say that what comes before isn't effective or necessary.

All I can tell you is this series is HOT! If you like shows and movies like Stargate and Star Trek, etc., you're going to LOVE Phoenix Earth. My mum is even reading it now . . . though she seems to have a soft spot for Order of 5ive. I think that's because her baby boy was involved with that series, ;). So, check out the series, you have my Massie seal of approval that it's a great read!

Cover Reveals: Order of 5ive & Phoenix Earth

ORDER OF 5IVE

Order of 5ive returns this year with an explosive season 2 that picks up right where season 1 left off. The landscape may have changed somewhat, but the quirky, charming, and fun-loving teen heroes are back with a vengeance, as they are pitted against more hairy, mythological monsters and wild creatures of the night. The conspiracies deepen as well, and old enemies evolve into even greater threats as they amass power, raising the stakes for election year 2012!

PHOENIX EARTH

And entering the fray this year is Phoenix Earth, our inaugural, full-on space opera/sci-fi entry. With this series, 711 Press goes beyond the usual frontiers, reaching out to bold new territory with an intriguing, politically-charged, action-packed, and entertaining TV book series that is sure to delight fans of the genre. If you loved Battlestar Galactica as we did, you'll wanna catch this show in April--but don't look for Cylons in this series. We're talkin' alien planet and future Earth. 'Nuff said!

See you next cover reveal!
